My friend and I went to the folk club that the Spinners held every week above a pub in Paradise Street.

The spinners would sing, and then they would invite people on stage to sing.

I was rubbish playing a guitar but I got up and my friend sang "The leaving of Liverpool"

we came last :-)

but what a great night!
